UPDATE JULY 6, 2016
Trail maintenance is temporarily suspended as ALL of Boggs Forest, including the area behind Cobb Elementary School, will be closed.
We anticipate partial opening of the forest some time this autumn.
For further inquiries, please contact the forest manager or forest aide at 707-928-4378.
Thank you so much for your patience, cooperation and enthusiasm to help restore the forest!
We are always looking for volunteers to help maintain Boggs Mountain trails for the public’s enjoyment and safety. Trail maintenance is a great opportunity to give back to this wonderful forest sanctuary, and to have fun while working side-by-side with others who care about Boggs Mountain Demonstration State Forest!
Minors who are involved in trail maintenance need to have their guardians or parents read and sign the FOBM Liability Exclusion Form.
Allow 2-3 hours; bring water, work gloves and a hand tool such as loppers or clippers. We’ll also have tools available. We meet in the Boggs parking lot, and carpool to the work sites, if necessary. Please contact us for more info. Look forward to seeing you there!
Trail maintenance begins promptly at 9am (meeting at the main entrance parking lot near the kiosk) in the cooler months; 8am from June-Sept. The usual schedule is the second Sunday of each month, but may vary due to conflicting holidays.
Until further notice, trail maintenance days in 2016 up until July will take place behind Cobb Elementary School (Boggs property behind the school). Ample parking at the school parking lot off Hwy 175. Trail maintenance days for 2016 are:
Jan. 10 (cancelled due to rain), Feb. 21, March 13 (cancelled due to rain), April 10, May 15 (as May 8th is Mother’s Day). As of July 2016, trail maintenance will be temporarily suspended behind Cobb Elementary until forest management allows the public back into the area.
